Fantasy football advice, Week 3: who to start/sit for Chicago Bears vs. Dallas Cowboys

Start ‘em

Alshon Jeffery is the lone bright spot in what could wind up being a dismal Chicago Bears season. He can be locked in once again as a WR1 as long as he is healthy, which he is. Brian Hoyer peppered DeAndre Hopkins with targets in a dominant 2015 season with Houston, and is capable of doing the same with Jeffery in Chicago.

Jeremy Langford is still the primary back in Chicago, but overall ineffectiveness as well as an injury to Ka’Deem Carey could pave the way for Jordan Howard. Howard should not yet be started, but is worth a stash in all 12-team formats. Langford can be considered a touchdown-dependent RB2 who could see his workload dip if his ineffectiveness continues. Langford owns just a 3.53 yards per carry average in his career.

Sit ‘em

Hoyer and his complementary pass catchers of Eddie Royal and Zach Miller can be left out of fantasy lineups across the board.

Start ‘em

Dak Prescott, despite executing a conservative game plan, has done so quite well. His mistake-free football, coupled with his running ability could be in for a big evening against a Bears defense that is decimated by injury. Fantasy owners who subscribe to streaming quarterbacks could do far worse than Prescott, who is in the QB1 category for Week 3. He also propels Dez Bryant, Jason Witten and Ezekiel Elliott to high-upside options in fantasy lineups across the board.

Cole Beasley is the Cowboys’ leader in catches and yards to start the young season, capitalizing on high-percentage routes for his rookie quarterback. In PPR formats, Beasley is a sneaky WR3 for a Bears defense that will be without Adrian Amos, Danny Trevathan and potentially without slot cornerback Bryce Callahan.

Sit ‘em

Though Alfred Morris relieved Elliott after his fumbling issues in Week 2, his usage is not expected to give him standalone fantasy value.
