It looks like 2016 will be a lost season for Sammy Watkins. On Friday, the Buffalo Bills placed the receiver on season-ending I.R.
Bills put Sammy Watkins on I.R., fantasy season likely over

However, this does not mean Watkins’ season is 100 percent over. The I.R. designation to return exemption could allow him to come back in eight weeks. He is still recovering from offseason surgery to repair a stress fracture in his foot.
In two games this season, Watkins has been limited to six grabs for 63 yards on 11 targets. He missed Week 3 vs. the Arizona Cardinals due to lingering pain and discomfort in his surgically repaired foot, which clearly limited him on the field when he did play.
No surgery is currently scheduled for the foot, according to NFL.com reporter Ian Rapoport.
Fantasy Impact: Watkins was already a major fantasy dud when he played. This I.R. move makes it easier to cut him now and find a replacement ASAP, even if he is able to return late in the regular season.
