Seahawks wide receiver Paul Richardson is exploding onto the scene in the playoffs. Following up the clinic he put on last week against the Lions, he appeared to make an incredible heads up play against the Falcons when he fell down after a long reception, got up, and ran into the end zone.
Paul Richardson made a heads up play vs. Falcons, but touchdown was overturned
Referees initially called a touchdown, but upon review of the play they ruled that Richardson was down by contact. By the looks of it, they made the right call.
Here are few stills of the play to confirm what the referees saw.
The Seahawks continued the drive with first-and-10 at the Falcons’ 19-yard line, but quarterback Russell Wilson was sacked on the next play, nuking a promising drive. The Seahawks kicked a field goal, leaving four points on the board in what is shaping up to be a close game.
