Mason Crosby hit a 51-yard field goal to push the Green Bay Packers past the Dallas Cowboys and advance to the NFC Championship. It was actually his second attempt at the kick — the first was true, but the Cowboys got a timeout off in an attempt to ice the kicker.
Mason Crosby’s game-winning field goal vs. Cowboys snuck through goalpost by INCHES
What. A. Kick.

The Cowboys’ ploy almost worked, but the second kick JUST snuck inside the left upright after looking like it would sail wide left.
Crosby was the late-game hero. On the previous drive, he hit a 56-yard field goal that, at the time, looked like it might be a game-winner. The Cowboys mounted a field goal drive of their own when they took over with 1:38 left in regulation. Dan Bailey hit a 52-yarder to tie the game once again.
Then Crosby hit not one, but TWO 51-yard field goals, back to back. The wildest thing about the field goals is that Crosby had historically been pretty bad at long clutch kicks.
Of course, Crosby’s kicks would not have been possible if not for a sensational Aaron Rodgers throw and Jared Cook catch to put the Packers in field goal range. Then Crosby was perfect when called upon and the Packers won a 34-31 classic. What a game.
