Jeff Bagwell, Tim Raines and Ivan Rodriguez got the ultimate call on Wednesday, voted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame by the Baseball Writers Association of America.

Martinez saw a huge spike from 2016, up from 43.4% to 58.6%
Those three achieved the 75% of the 442 ballots required for induction into Cooperstown and will have their ceremony on July 30. But there were several other notable factors with this year’s votes.
Trevor Hoffman (74.0%) in his second year and Vladimir Guerrero (71.7%) in his first year both fell just short.
Edgar Martinez fell short with 58.6%, but that represented a huge jump from his 43.4% in 2016. With Raines voted in and with only two years remaining on the ballot, Martinez seems best suited for the next internet campaign — the like that helped players like Raines and Bert Blyleven earn induction.
Seven-time MVP Barry Bonds and seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens, both considered among the very best at their positions in baseball history but both tainted by the swath of performance enhancing drugs, also made huge strides this year. Clemens received 54.1% and Clemens 53.8% in their fifth year on the ballot, up from 45.2% and 44.3%, respectively in 2016.
