It looks like the NBA trade dominoes aren’t falling after all. The Atlanta Hawks have pulled Paul Millsap off the trading block less than a week after sending Kyle Korver to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Hawks reportedly pull Paul Millsap off the trade market
The Hawks are keeping Paul Millsap.

With early trade rumors swirling around Millsap already this season, it was assumed the Hawks were going into a rebuild mode after shipping off Korver for a future first-round pick, Mike Dunleavy Jr, and Mo Williams. The Hawks, who currently sit in fourth place in the Eastern conference, are also on a six-game win streak. In an Eastern Conference where seeds three through eight are a tossup, the Hawks still have a chance to remain competitive and it looks as if they will continue to try to do so.
Millsap currently leads the Hawks in points per game and is second in rebounds and assists. He’s easily the Hawks’ best player and is extremely important to their success moving forward, but that also means he’s the best trade asset they have. At this point, it appears the Hawks are choosing to stick with what they have.
Even though Millsap, 31, has a player option next year, there was still plenty of chatter from around the league from teams that were interested. Denver, Sacramento, and the Los Angeles Lakers were just a few that were interested in adding Millsap to their rosters. It’s unclear what any teams were offering, but whatever the situation, Atlanta is keeping him. Just last week Millsap expressed he wanted to stay in Atlanta but it’s still unclear what he will do come this summer.
The Hawks were originally looking to send Mike Dunleavy Jr. elsewhere but will now also keep him on the roster.
There is plenty of time left before the trade deadline for Millsap to be sent to another team, but for now, he is staying with the Atlanta Hawks.
