The relocation of the San Antonio Stars is imminent, according to the San Antonio Express-News. The Stars missed the playoffs last season with the worst record in the league, going 8-26 despite landing Kelsey Plum with the first pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft.

There’s no indication where the team will be headed yet.


There is no indication from the Express-News yet where the franchise would move. It moved to San Antonio from Utah in 2003 and reached the WNBA Finals in 2008 but has finished last in the league three straight seasons now.
The WNBA’s last relocation saw the Dallas Wings relocated from Tulsa in 2016.
Spurs Sports & Entertainment, the Spurs’ ownership company, currently owns and operates the Stars.
