Luke Kuechly suffered an injury against the Eagles late in the first half of Carolina’s Thursday night matchup. Kuechly was being evaluated for a concussion, did not come out for the second half of the game, and would later be ruled out.
Luke Kuechly is in the concussion protocol after leaving Eagles vs. Panthers with head injury
Kuechly was taken to the locker room, and would be ruled out.

Head coach Ron Rivera didn’t have much to say about Kuechly’s status when he spoke to reporters on Friday.
“All I can tell you guys is he’s in the protocol,” Rivera said via Bill Voth of Panthers.com.
Defensive coordinator Steve Wilks shared some positive news on Kuechly on Friday afternoon.
Last season, Kuechly played in just 10 games. He suffered a concussion in Week 11 against the Saints, and missed the rest of the season. He also suffered a concussion in Week 1 in 2015, which forced him to miss time. His injuries were a part of the Panthers’ drop off in 2016.
Kuechly was one of the anchors of the Panthers’ defense in 2015, when the team had a 15-1 season and went to the Super Bowl before ultimately losing to the Denver Broncos.
This season, Kuechly has 29 tackles and one interception for a Panthers defense that came into Thursday’s game third in the NFL in total defense.
