Why Aaron Rodgers is king of the two-minute drill

Nobody pulls his team from the jaws of defeat like Green Bay’s quarterback.

Since the start of the 2014 season, the Packers have faced nine situations in which they got the ball with two minutes or less left to play and were down by one score or tied. And because they have Aaron Rodgers, they’ve gotten points on almost half of those drives, with touchdowns on three of them — the highest TD percentage of any team in that situation across that time span.

How does Rodgers do it? Some of it’s footwork and pocket awareness, and some of it’s pinpoint accuracy and arm strength. He’s got every trick in the bag to keep defenses off balance. Resistance in end-of-game situations is futile as long as No. 12 lines up under center.

Geoff Schwartz breaks down examples of Rodgers pulling rabbits out of hats to pull victory from the jaws of defeat. When you’re playing against the Packers, you simply can’t exhale until the clock reads all zeros.
