The Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets had the second game of our NBA opening night on Tuesday, and it ended with a near game-winner by Kevin Durant. The Rockets barely pulled it out, by a final score of 122-121.
Kevin Durant hit a shot at the buzzer to beat the Rockets but it didn’t count
So, so close.

The Warriors were heavy favorites coming into the season as championship favorites, so any loss would be a surprise. Durant nearly saved the day, but came up tenths of a second short of the victory.
Here was the final play:
The Warriors were impressive throughout, but the Rockets refused to go away. The Rockets had three players with 20-plus points, including James Harden who had 27, P.J. Tucker who had 20, and Eric Gordon who finished with 24.
Chris Paul had four points, eight rebounds, and 11 assists in his debut with the Rockets. He finished the game on the bench, as Houston closed it out on the road for the big win.
Draymond Green was announced out of the game in the fourth quarter after suffering a sprained knee, and the Rockets took advantage of it down the stretch. Clint Capela came up with some big baskets in the fourth quarter, and finished with 12 points and four rebounds.
The Rockets knocked off the championship favorites on the first night of the NBA season, and we can’t wait for more.
