He hit all five! Here’s how.

Kevin Love scored five points on the same possession all from the free-throw line. More impressively — I guess it’s impressive? — it came on three different violations.

Free throws 1 and 2

Thon Maker committed a flagrant one while Love is playing defense, hitting him in the head and neck area, a renewed point of emphasis this season. It was Maker’s first flagrant foul in his career.

Free throw 3

Tony Snell follows up the unforced errors with a defensive three-seconds violation. Historically, LeBron James has taken technical free throws, but Love is a better shooter (86 percent last season) and James has had all sorts of trouble at the line, something Tom Haberstroh chronicled for ESPN last season.

Love knocked it down.

Free throws 4 and 5

It takes a Khris Middleton shooting foul against Love to finally end this possession, but not before Love takes two more free throws — making them both.

Here’s how it looked in the box score.

So that’s how you shoot five free throws in a single possession, if you were wondering.
