Don’t look now, but Ben Simmons is unstoppable.
Ben Simmons made history with his first career triple-double
Simmons did something only one other player in league history has done.

Simmons notched his first career triple-double in his fourth game ever. And, to make the night even sweeter, the 76ers grabbed their first win of the season over the Pistons.
Multiple 76ers had good games tonight. Joel Embiid dropped 31 on Andre Drummond’s head. Robert Covington had 13 points and snatched four steals. But it was Ben Simmons who stole the night with 21 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
Simmons made history on this day. He’s the first player since 1967 to notch a triple double by his fourth career game.
But it’s not like this is just a one-time thing for Simmons. He’s been close in every game. He’s had double-doubles in each of his first four games.
It took him until late in the fourth quarter to notch his final assist to nail the triple-double down, but we knew this was coming way before it ever happened. Simmons was on triple-double alert before the third quarter was even over.
But it’s not just the fact that he did it — it’s how he did it. He doesn’t need a jumper to be great because he can get to the rim at will. He doesn’t need screens to see the floor because he’s so tall he sees everything anyway.
He dished out every pass in the book to get 10 assists. Behind the back, across the floor, through the paint. You name it, Simmons did it. (Via Kevin O’Connor)
Simmons looks special. Very few players can do what he’s doing on the floor and he’s a rookie. There are multi-year veteran players who struggle to make the passes he makes.
He’s still got a lot of room to grow — he’s just 21 years old. But as he continues to grow, he’ll only get better. And that’s a scary thought for the rest of the NBA.
