The Jets shut out the Browns in the first half, with Kizer going 8-of-17 for 87 yards and an interception. Kizer lost a fumble in the half as well.
Hogan came in for Kizer last week, but head coach Hue Jackson said it was a precaution as to not get Kizer hurt in a blowout.
What does this mean for the Browns? It’s not great that Kizer hasn’t had a good showing to start the season, but there are still clearly issues on the Browns’ offense. You can mainly point to a lack of talent on the roster, and asking a rookie quarterback to work with them isn’t exactly easy.
However, upon coming into the game, Hogan led the Browns to a lead, going 5-of-5 on his first drive with 52 yards and a touchdown. It’s the first lead the Browns have had all season at 7-3.
Hogan has yet to start a game in his NFL career but had 6 appearances coming into Sunday’s game. He’s got a career 53.3 percent completion percentage with 287 yards and a touchdown with three interceptions.
