Kristaps Porzingis destroyed the Kings

Another 30-point game for Porzingis, and the fourth quarter hasn’t even started.

The Knicks beat the Kings by 27 points on Friday night, and make no mistake: it was because Sacramento has no answer for Kristaps Porzingis.

Porzingis finished 34 points on 11-of-21 shooting in 27 minutes of play, barely playing any of the fourth quarter as the Knicks ran up the score and held onto their lead. And one of those baskets game by way of a sweet, one-handed alley-oop finish lobbed up by Knicks rookie Frank Ntilikina.

Porzingis is rolling. His season average of 30 points per game will increase after Saturday night. He’s scored fewer than 20 points only twice this season and has logged eight 30-plus-point games already this year.

Under his lead, the Knicks are on their way to a 7-5 start, and one of those losses came in a game he sat out. After years of enduring a mediocre product on the basketball court, New York fans have a reason to cheer again.

And as long as Porzingis continues picking opponents apart, the Knicks just might be back.
