Patriots’ Dion Lewis got some help from a Broncos player on 103-yard kick return TD

You’ve got to push him out of bounds. Not forward.

Patriots returner Dion Lewis got an assist from the Broncos defense on a 103-yard kick return touchdown on Sunday night.

A good rule of thumb is to always push the ball carrier out of bounds. Don’t push him forward.

Special teams have been a liability so far for the Broncos. Denver muffed a punt on what would have been its first possession of the game, giving the ball to the Patriots on the Broncos’ 24-yard line. It took Tom Brady two plays to get the Patriots into the end zone.

Lewis’ return touchdown gave the Patriots a 14-3 lead in Denver.
