It’s been a comedy of errors for the Broncos against the Patriots. Having just 10 defenders on the field and then allowing a Patriots touchdown was just one of them.

It’s a lot harder to stop a 9-yard Dion Lewis run into the end zone if you’re missing a defender.
Many of the Broncos’ mistakes on Sunday night came on special teams. They muffed a punt early in the game. A Broncos player helped Lewis on his way to a 103-yard return touchdown with a little push in the right direction. And the Patriots blocked a Denver punt.
But this mistake came on defense, and it let the Patriots take a 34-16 lead.
