Titans players can’t decide if their ‘Smurf look’ Color Rush uniforms are awesome or ugly

Some Titans players love the baby blue uniforms, and some really don’t.

The Titans will be wearing head-to-toe baby blue Color Rush uniforms on Thursday night when they take on the Steelers. Left tackle Taylor Lewan is a big fan of the look.

“When you look at us, it’s pretty self-explanatory — we look like Smurfs. But the Smurf look is solid. I don’t mind it. I think it is a pretty rad deal,” Lewan said, via Jim Wyatt of TitansOnline.com.

Lewan isn’t alone. Jurrell Casey, a 300-pound defensive end, thinks the pale blue uniforms are flattering.

“I love the baby blues,” Casey said. “I think they are one of our best uniforms. Some guys don’t like it — they think it makes us look like powder puffs, but, hey, I love it.

“And I think it makes me look a little slimmer in the powder blue.”

Lewan said he doesn’t put too much thought into his uniform. But it’s a nice change of pace, even if not all of his teammates agree.

“Hey, it’s fun to switch it up every once in a while and have those funky uniforms. I think it’s pretty cool, I really do. I think you’ll find some guys love them, and other guys hate them.”

Count tight end Delanie Walker as one of the ones who isn’t thrilled about the uniforms.

“I hate them — they are ugly,” Walker said. “They are just too bright for me. I don’t like it. But hey, that’s just me.”

But only one thing matters, regardless of which uniforms the Titans are wearing.

“The most important thing is how we play [wearing] them,” Walker said.

The Steelers will also be in Color Rush uniforms. Steelers players are fans of the all-black look.

“I like that uniform a lot,” linebacker Ryan Shazier said via Teresa Varley at Steelers.com. “We are all blacked out. Especially it being a night game, the fans all wearing black, it’s like a blackout in the stadium. I love that uniform. Every time I play in a video game I put that uniform on.”

Le’Veon Bell shared that sentiment.

“I love the Color Rush,” Bell said. “The swag is crazy. When you look good, you play good.”

The Color Rush looks for both teams are just one more reason to tune into Thursday Night Football.
