Damian Lillard’s latest shoe can actually glow in the dark

The Dame 4 is crazy.

Adidas normally puts out plenty of cool colorways in their basketball sneaker collection, but we haven’t seen anything quite like Damian Lillard’s latest Dame 4 colorway.

Lillard’s latest shoe, titled “Glow in the Park”, can actually glow in the dark. It’s got a black base for the color scheme but is laced with a neon outsole, cyan logo and red laceloops on the tongue.

Here’s a look at the shoe glowing in all its glory.

The idea of a glow in the dark shoe was inspired by Lillard’s love for night skating as a kid. That’s why you see the skates attached to the sneaker in the picture above. Skating is something Lillard has a love for and still does to this day. Here he is skating on an Instagram story from a while back.

And, like basketball, he’s serious about his skating. If you’re out here just posing, he’s going to let you know. You can’t “fake the fonk,” he says.

This isn’t the first time he’s added skates to his shoes, either. Lillard did the same with a custom pair of Dame 2 skates a few years ago (via Nice Kicks).

Lillard has often had some out-of-the-box colorways for his sneakers since getting his own signature shoe four years ago, but these easily are at the top of the line.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen them, either. A few weeks ago, Lil Wayne visited Lillard and watched him play ball against the Thunder. He wore the shoes then.

This is a great look for the Lillard line and Adidas overall. It’s always nice to see an athlete’s creativity and personality come out in a shoe. It makes me wonder what else they’ve got up their sleeves. If you’re into them, you can cop these through Eastbay on Nov. 17.
