The Eagles are just avoiding field goals and PAT situations with kicker Jake Elliott out for the rest of Sunday Night Football with a concussion. But linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill was called into action for emergency kickoff duty, and he’s actually pretty good.
Eagles emergency kicker Kamu Grugier-Hill is pretty good at kickoffs ... for a linebacker
He’s done well on both attempts.

His first attempt came right after Carson Wentz hit Corey Clement for a touchdown and also for a successful two-point conversion. Grugier-Hill knocked it into the end zone.
He got decent air underneath it and got it where it needed to be. He looked just as capable on his second attempt, after Wentz found Torrey Smith in the end zone and connected with Alshon Jeffrey on a successful two-point attempt.
The Eagles won’t go with punter Donnie Jones for kickoffs because the skill set and mechanics for punts and kicks is entirely different. It’s easier to have Jones stick with punts, especially since Grugier-Hill is actually pretty good at kickoffs.
