Bradley Beal is the youngest player in NBA history to hit 700 3-pointers

This probably means Beal’s a shooter, guys.

Bradley Beal made two of his five three-point attempts as part of his 23-point effort to guide the Wizards to an 11-point victory over the Bucks on Monday night. With those two triples, he recorded his 700th three-pointer faster than any other player in NBA history.

”It’s an amazing accomplishment; I’m proud of it,” Beal said, via The Washington Post’s Candace Buckner. “Didn’t really think about it until after the game … that’s big time for me.”

Wait, really?

Yes, really. Beal is 24 years and 146 days old. J.R. Smith made 700 threes at age 24 and 149 days back in Feb. 2010. Kyrie Irving hit his 700th triple the day before he turned 25. Klay Thompson did it at age 25 and three days.

Beal didn’t record it faster than Stephen Curry, who made 700 threes in 276 games, or Thompson or Damian Lillard, who each hit the mark in game No. 279. But he’s younger than they were, and well, for now, that’s what matters. On top of that, Beal probably would have blown them out of the water had he not had injuries in his first, third, and fourth seasons.

In 77 games last season, Beal hit 223 threes. That’s more than he made in the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons combined (211). Beal has already drilled 36 threes through 16 games this season. At this rate, he’ll nail a calm 184 (and-a-half) triples this season.

Bradley Beal can shoot it. This much we already know. But if this is the start he’s off to — hitting 700 threes at a younger age than anyone else, ever — lord knows what other milestones he’ll shatter before it’s all said and done.
