The Oregon State Beavers and the Oregon Ducks have collided in the Civil War football game since 1894. Oregon leads the all-time series at 63-47-10, but Oregon State won last year’s edition. Saturday at Autzen Stadium they’ll resume the rivalry with ESPN2 (live stream) showing the broadcast at 7 p.m. ET.

Oregon State (1-10) is having the kind of season that both the team and its fan base would like to forget. The Beavers have lost nine games in a row, surrendering 39.6 points in that time span. That’s because they have the 126th-ranked defense in the nation and have given up an astounding 2,518 rushing yards this season.

The Ducks (6-5), on the other hand, are coming off a 48-28 win against the Arizona Wildcats. Even though the Ducks aren’t having a great season, they rank 30th in the nation in total yards and 10th in rushing yards accumulated. Oregon just has to run the ball to beat the Beavers.

Oregon State vs. Oregon News

Beau Baldwin earned his first coaching role as the Quarterbacks Coach at Central Washington University, where he served as a Quarterback himself for the team during his playing years. Baldwin worked as the Quarterbacks Coach for the Wildcats till 2002. During his time there, he worked with quarterbacks including Jon Kitna and All-American Zak Hill.

After the 2002 season, Baldwin left for the same position as the Quarterbacks Coach/Offensive Coordinator with Eastern Washington. Here, he spent another 4 seasons with the EWU Eagles that included 2 FCS playoff appearances before ultimately returning to Central Washington.

In fact, Oregon is arguably recruiting better across both sports for 2018 than any other program in the country.

According to the 247 Sports Team Composite rankings, Oregon football has the No. 6 current class. But if you want to use just Scout.com’s rankings (which are now hosted at 247), then Oregon would have the top class in both. The football Ducks are No. 6 at ESPN and Rivals and No. 7 in 247’s non-Composite rankings.

Oregon State vs. Oregon prediction

Oregon’s rushing attack will overwhelm Oregon State’s horrible run defense, so the Ducks will easily walk away with a victory.
