Blaine Gabbert beats his former team in a wild finish between the Jaguars and Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals pulled off an upset victory and snapped a four-game winning streak for the Jacksonville Jaguars with a 27-24 win in Week 12 punctuated by a 57-yard field goal by Phil Dawson.

Dawson’s kick came after a wacky finish that saw both teams making crucial errors and big plays in the fourth quarter.

The game-winning kick was set up by Blaine Gabbert — a 2011 first-round pick of the Jaguars playing his old team for the first team. He hit two passes on the sideline in the final 20 seconds. The second was a tightrope reception by D.J. Foster that was reviewed and ruled a catch by officials.

Gabbert finished the game with 22 completions on 38 attempts for 241 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. It was far from a smooth game for the former Jaguars quarterback, though.

Nursing a 16-10 lead, a fumble by the quarterback fell into the hands of former Cardinals defensive lineman Calais Campbell to give the Jaguars a lead.

His fourth quarter interception to Barry Church also threatened to ruin the Cardinals’ chances at a win Sunday.

But where Gabbert struggled, Blake Bortles was even worse. The Cardinals stopped the rushing attack of Leonard Fournette and T.J. Yeldon, forcing Bortles to try to win the game and the Jaguars quarterback couldn’t get it done.

His worst moment came in the fourth quarter when he threw an interception to Tyrann Mathieu when the Jaguars were possibly in range for a field goal that would’ve given the team a 27-24 lead.

When the Jaguars offense failed to get going on one last drive, it punted to Arizona and Gabbert hit consecutive throws to set up the long try for Dawson. The 42-year-old kicker drilled it.

With the loss, the Jaguars drop to 7-3 and behind the Tennessee Titans for the AFC South lead. Arizona moves up to 5-6, although it will still be an uphill climb to try to get into the postseason.
