Texans RB Lamar Miller returns from leg injury scare vs. Ravens

The Texans’ running back depth would get thin without Lamar Miller.

Houston Texans running back Lamar Miller stayed on the sideline for the end of the first half and appearing to suffer a knee injury on Monday Night Football when he was tackled on the sideline by Baltimore Ravens linebacker Matt Judon.

Miller, 26, immediately tossed off his helmet and reached for his left leg. He was replaced in the game by Alfred Blue, but returned to the game at the start of the second half.

In the first two quarters of the game, Miller tallied 30 yards on nine carries and opened up the scoring in the game with a 4-yard touchdown on Houston’s opening offensive possession.

What does this mean for the Texans? An injury would’ve been especially concerning with D’Onta Foreman already out with a torn Achilles suffered in Week 11.

Blue has some experience running the ball for the Texans, including 14 total starts in his first three seasons, but the other options are Jordan Todman and running-back-turned-wide-receiver Andre Ellington.

That’s not a good situation for a team that’s relying on Tom Savage to lead the way at quarterback after losing Deshaun Watson for the year. Luckily for the Texans, it looks like Miller is alright.
