All-Star power forward Blake Griffin exited the Los Angeles Clippers’ Monday night matchup against the Lakers late in the fourth quarter with an apparent knee injury. He did not return.

Yet another injury to Griffin’s left knee is a major cause for concern in Los Angeles.

The injury occurred after Austin Rivers fell into Griffin’s knee while fighting for a loose ball. Griffin continued to play for a few moments, but visibly grimaced while holding his knee on the court. He left for the locker room with the team trainer shortly after.
The knee injury is another blow to Griffin, who has not played more than 67 games since the 2013-14 season. He has an incredibly unfortunate injury history to the same knee, including a broken kneecap, a knee bone bruise, a meniscus tear, a partially torn quad and a strained hamstring.
Griffin has had multiple surgeries on his left knee. He signed a five-year, $173 million contract extension with the Clippers during the offseason.
