If you play basketball long enough, you’re bound to get caught on the wrong side of someone else’s highlight. That was Russell Westbrook tonight when he got crossed up by Elfrid Payton.
Did Russell Westbrook fall or get tripped on this crossover?
You let us know.

This is what I like to call a yank.
The Thunder were trying to force Payton into the corner with Westbrook and Steven Adams when, all of a sudden, Payton snatches the ball back the other way. Westbrook was left in the dust.
You can see where Westbrook might have tripped over Adams’ foot if you freeze the frame.
But if you’ve ever been crossed up, you know that the only reason you’re “tripping” on someone’s foot is because the dribble was so sharp. It’s fine. We’ve all been here before — it’s just a matter of if you’re willing to admit it or not.
That’s a good move by Elf and a funny spill by Westbrook. I’d have never guessed I’d see the league’s MVP on the ground for anything other than a loose ball, but I guess it happens to everyone.
