Kristaps Porzingis is apparently eligible to return to the game after suffering what the Knicks are calling a ankle sprain. The injury looked bad with Justise Winslow stepping on his ankle, but X-rays on the ankle came back negative.

But the Knicks say it’s only a sprain
Porzingis suffered the injury less than three minutes into Wednesday night’s game against the Miami Heat. In a scramble for a loose ball, Porzingis and collided into each other when Winslow inadvertently stepped on Porzingis’ ankle.
Porzingis was escorted into the locker room with the help of his teammates.

Porzingis said he probably won’t miss much time, if any, after the game. He wasn’t walking around with crutches and said he was able to move around just fine.
“I don’t think it’s that serious, but we’ll see how I feel [Thursday],” Porzingis said.
Porzingis had scored four of the Knicks’ first seven points before going down with his injury. The Knicks were off to a solid 10-10 start behind the up-and-coming forward’s play. He is averaging 27.0 points and 7.2 rebounds on the year.
