Cleveland Cavaliers forward Iman Shumpert is expected to miss six to eight weeks when he undergoes arthroscopic left knee surgery on Friday, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Iman Shumpert expected to miss 6 to 8 weeks with knee surgery, per report
Best of luck to Shump’s quick recovery.

Shumpert missed four of the last five games dealing with the knee injury. He was reevaluated by team physicians for “ongoing discomfort” for his knee on Thursday, when it was determined that surgery would be necessary, the Cavaliers announced.
This season, Shumpert has played 13 games, averaging 20.8 minutes per game and scoring 4.8 points on 38.6 percent shooting.
This is yet another injury to Cleveland
Though the Cavaliers entered Thursday with a nine-game winning streak, Shumpert’s injury adds to a growing list of them. Cleveland entered the season without Isaiah Thomas, and since then, both Tristan Thompson and Derrick Rose have both gone out injured. Rose, specifically, is away from the team, determining his future in basketball.
Cleveland will be OK — lineups without Rose and even Thompson tend to be their better ones, and Shumpert is another bit player. Fortunately, Jeff Green has been a breath of fresh air as a foward off the bench. He can continue logging heavier minutes while Shumpert is absent.
Hopefully, Shumpert recovers smoothly and is back before we know it, along with the rest of Cleveland’s injured list.
