Dak Prescott was taken to the locker room with a hand injury against Washington on Thursday night, and he was ruled questionable to return by the Cowboys. He would get back into the game before the end of the second quarter, and remained in for the rest of Dallas’ 38-14 victory over their divisional rivals.
Dak Prescott suffers hand injury against Washington, returns to game
Prescott was taken to the locker room in the first half of the Cowboys’ win.

Prescott took a hit while making a throw in the second quarter and would be taken to the locker room after the Cowboys were forced to punt.
What does this mean for the Cowboys? The Dallas offense had been struggling coming into the game, including Prescott. He threw five interceptions in their two games leading up to Thursday night’s game.
Through a quarter and change against Washington, Prescott had looked better. Luckily, the Cowboys were able to buy some time thanks to a Ryan Switzer punt return for a touchdown. It kept the Dallas offense off of the field and allowed Prescott to recover.
Cooper Rush is the Cowboys’ backup quarterback, but the Cowboys didn’t have to resort to him at any time. Switzer’s return put them up 17-0 before Washington got on the board with a touchdown to make it 17-7.
Prescott ended the game 11-for-22 with 102 yards and a pair of touchdown passes on the night. One of those touchdowns was to Dez Bryant in the second half, after the swelling in Prescott’s hand was visible on the broadcast.
“I couldn’t think about it for the most part,” Prescott told Heather Cox on NBC after the game. “I just had to keep gripping the ball and keep throwing on the sideline, and it worked out. It’s fine.”
