Bedlam did not let us down on Saturday, as Oklahoma and Oklahoma State combined for an offensive splurge for the ages. Trey Sermon scored the touchdown that put the show to rest.
Oklahoma’s 53-yard dagger TD was an appropriate end to its Bedlam shootout vs. Oklahoma State
SO MUCH OFFENSE!

After getting the ball back up 55-52, the Sooners needed either a first down or a touchdown to seal the game.
Sermon gave them their touchdown, a 53-yard burst to make it a 62-52 game.
Oklahoma State got the ball with under three minutes to go down 55-52 after Baker Mayfield threw an interception. It set up Mason Rudolph and the Cowboys’ offense for a drive to take the lead, but they were unable to capitalize.
After a targeting call saved a Rudolph interception, the Cowboys were able to maintain possession and had another life on Oklahoma’s 40-yard line. But they couldn’t get close enough to attempt a game-tying field goal, and Rudolph overthrew a receiver on fourth-and-8. Then came the Sooners’ exclamation-point touchdown.
The combined 114 points is the most combined points in the series. The previous high was 102, which happened in 2008.
Baker Mayfield completed 24 of 36 of his passes for 598 yards and five touchdowns against two picks. Rudolph completed 28 of his 54 passes for 448 yards, matching Mayfield on touchdowns and interceptions.
The Sooners had 785 yards of total offense, with the Cowboys having 661. No defense needed.
Oklahoma State and Oklahoma came into Saturday’s Bedlam matchup with 7-1 records, hoping to stay alive in the College Football Playoff race. The Sooners were able to get the win on the road and boost their resume as we get closer to the end of the year.
