Tony Romo is calling a Cowboys game for the first time. His former team paid tribute to him before their matchup with the Chiefs kicked off, and Romo was understandably emotional.
Cowboys welcome Tony Romo back to AT&T Stadium with a heartfelt tribute video
The former quarterback is calling a Cowboys game for the first time.

The team showed this video honoring Romo before the game, and it notes Romo’s “passion, persistence, and love of the game.”
Romo was a little overwhelmed. You can’t blame him.
Romo signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2003 and spent his entire career in Dallas. Dak Prescott took over after Romo suffered a fractured back in the 2016 preseason, and he played so well that the Cowboys had no choice but to look to the future and move on from Romo.
CBS hired Romo as an analyst, and he’s been a breath of fresh air in the booth. His enthusiasm and passion for the game are evident. He did mean a lot to the Cowboys, and it was nice to see them recognize him on Sunday.
