NBA scores 2017: LeBron James and Kyrie Irving combined for a wild Monday night

And no, the Cavaliers didn’t play the Celtics.

Kyrie Irving went off Monday night, lighting up the Hawks for 35 points on 14-of-22 shooting from the field (and shifting defenders left and right along the way) to lead the Celtics to their ninth straight win of the season.

And moments after Boston solidified its 110-107 win, LeBron James posted his mood on Instagram: clinched Arthur fist:

LeBron and Kyrie — two all-world players who are no longer teammates — combined to make for one helluva start to the week. You can read more about James’s mood here.

But Monday night, while highlighted by LeBron’s cryptic Instagram post, was more than just a social media fest. There was actual basketball played, too. NBA basketball at that.

Here’s what you missed:

Kyrie Irving has handles for days

Words would probably decrease the overall value of this section, so I’ll just let the following GIFs do the talking:

Devin Booker made history

Booker scored a modest 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting in Phoenix’s six-point loss to Brooklyn on Monday, but in doing so, he became the fourth-youngest player in NBA history to score 3,000 points.

The only players to reach that milestone faster? LeBron, Kevin Durant, and Carmelo Anthony. That’s damn good company to be in.

D’Angelo Russell went off

After he and Booker went head-to-head and combined for 65 points in a late-October Nets loss, Russell stole the show. Brooklyn’s guard scored 13 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter and did not miss a shot in the final period:

Then after the game, he gave the credit to his teammates:

The Nets snapped a four-game losing streak and picked up their first road victory of the season.

Apparently this is illegal:

The Warriors didn’t score 100 points and still won by 17

Whenever Draymond Green’s hot from three — and by hot, I mean 4-of-6 hot — the opposing team’s gonna have a rough go.

Green, who shot 24 percent from three in October, is now shooting 66.7 percent from downtown in November. He’s so hot, whoever’s in charge of the Warriors’ Twitter gave him a new nickname:

Good luck, NBA.

Oh, and Kobe detailed the difference between No. 8 Mamba and No. 24 Mamba:

Happy Monday!
