Trevor Siemian left the Broncos’ game vs. the Colts with a left shoulder injury after taking a hit on their second possession. The Broncos soon ruled him out for the rest of the game after he was taken to the locker room.

Siemian will not need surgery, but he will miss the Broncos’ final two games.

Brock Osweiler entered the game in place of Siemian, and he may have to take over for the rest of the season. Siemian is headed to injured reserve, head coach Vance Joseph confirmed Friday. He won’t need surgery to repair the shoulder, but just “rest and rehab.”
What does this mean for the Broncos? It’s just more inconsistency at quarterback. Siemian hasn’t been great this season, and Osweiler hasn’t been any better. The Broncos came into this game with a 4-9 record, and a lost cause of a season.
The Broncos’ offense struggled on its first two drives. Siemian threw a bad interception on the first one, and while they were able to get into the red zone on their second, it ended with a missed field goal by Brandon McManus.
Osweiler got the Broncos on the board right before halftime with an 18-yard rushing touchdown, which he was pretty pumped about. He then threw another touchdown in the third quarter to give Denver its first lead of the game. Osweiler had his best game of the season. He went 12-of-17 for 194 yards, two touchdowns, and no turnovers.
Siemian underwent offseason surgery on the same shoulder.
Even if Siemian had been able to play again this season, the quarterback position is one that the Broncos will be addressing this offseason. For now, they’ll work with Brock Osweiler and Paxton Lynch, if Lynch is healthy enough to play.
