Rudy Gobert was helped off the floor against the Celtics after suffering an apparent knee injury. The Jazz center has yet to have an MRI, but, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, some think it may be a grade 1 MCL sprain.
Rudy Gobert is out after suffering apparent knee injury
It doesn’t look good.

According to Jazz beat writer Eric Woodyard, the injury looked much worse than it actually was.
Gobert suffered the injury when Derrick Favors fell into him after being fouled on an offensive putback attempt. Gobert went to the ground in pain.
No matter what the diagnosis, the Jazz’ 7’3 center certainly won’t return to action against the Celtics. He was ruled out by team doctors.
The injury isn’t a great sign for Gobert who just returned from an injury he suffered on his right ankle earlier this season after Dion Waiters crashed into him diving for a loose ball. This isn’t a related injury, but it just stinks to see Gobert struggling to stay on the floor thanks to incidents he has no control over.
As more updates come along we’ll update this post.
