The Packers appeared to be set up for a nice comeback in the fourth quarter against the Panthers, but were stopped short after a catch and fumble by Geronimo Allison.
Sorry Packers, refs made the right call on Geronimo Allison’s catch and fumble
It was a close play, but the right call.

Allison caught the Aaron Rodgers pass, where Panthers defensive back James Bradberry knocked the ball out, where the Panthers recovered.
The call on the field was correct. After securing the ball, players have to make a “football move” which includes players taking two steps. Allison took two steps prior to Bradberry’s punch.
If it looks similar, it’s probably because Charles “Peanut” Tillman made that play popular. Ron Rivera acknowledged it after the game:
Earlier in the game, Panthers wide receiver Damiere Byrd made a close catch in the end zone, and only got his rear end in bounds on the play.
It was initially ruled incomplete, but upon review, it would be ruled a touchdown.
The referees made correct calls on close plays in this game, which isn’t always the case. The Panthers would come away with the 31-24 win after Allison’s fumble in Rodgers’ comeback.
