Raiders pick-6 wiped out because Cole Beasley touched Sean Smith’s chinstrap

It was Smith’s second pick of the day.

It seemed like the Raiders would take a 14-10 lead over the Cowboys with a pick-six by Oakland cornerback Sean Smith. The pick was good, but officials ruled that Smith was down by contact on review.

It’s the right call.

Smith makes the diving catch and slides toward the sideline, but manages to stay in bounds. Cowboys wide receiver Cole Beasley barely touches Smith’s back, and then he touches his chinstrap. It’s enough to establish that Smith is down and effectively end the play.

It was Smith’s second interception of Dak Prescott on Sunday night. He picked Prescott off on the Cowboys’ opening series.
