The Atlanta Falcons haven’t been lighting up scoreboards the way they did in 2016, but it’s still an offense with a lot of weapons to worry about. So trying to stop all of those players with just 10 men isn’t the best strategy.
Buccaneers give up a touchdown with just 10 men on defense vs. Falcons
The Falcons are hard enough to stop with 11 men.

Did it matter that much? Probably not.
The Buccaneers left Ryan Smith on an island against Falcons wide receiver Justin Hardy. So unless an extra blitzer got to Matt Ryan faster, or Tampa Bay had another defensive back near the left sideline, it’s probably the same result.
Either way, Tampa Bay should make sure it has 11 the rest of the night because the Falcons are already a lot to handle.
