Pro Bowl 2018 rosters: Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger headline AFC roster

There weren’t many surprises on the AFC roster.

The NFL named its AFC roster for the Pro Bowl, featuring a mix of familiar names and rising new stars.

As expected, the top vote-getters in the conference were Tom Brady, who is enjoying an MVP-caliber season, and Le’Veon Bell. The rest of the quarterbacks were Philip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger, while the running back group was filled out by Kareem Hunt and LeSean McCoy.

Of course, not many of the players below will actually play in the Pro Bowl. Injured players will drop out, players preparing for the Super Bowl are automatically ineligible, and some simply don’t feel like playing a meaningless exhibition after just finishing a grueling season.

We might see another round of declined invitations this year, because they keep moving the game out of Hawaii for some reason. At least they went back to the AFC vs. NFC format after a bizarre experiment with a fantasy draft for several years.

The Pro Bowl takes place on Jan. 28 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. LaDainian Tomlinson and Jason Taylor have been named captains for the AFC team.
