Pro Bowl rosters 2018: Carson Wentz, Drew Brees headline NFC roster

There are plenty of players from the Eagles and Saints among the NFC roster, including a couple rookies.

The NFL named its NFC roster for the Pro Bowl, featuring a mix of familiar names and rising new stars.

The top vote-getter in the conference ended up being Carson Wentz. Wentz still made the roster despite tearing his ACL, so he’s definitely out of the game. The other quarterbacks to make the team are Drew Brees and Russell Wilson.

Several rookies also made the roster, notably running back Alvin Kamara and teammate Marshon Lattimore at cornerback.

Of course, not many of the players below will actually play in the Pro Bowl. Injured players will drop out, players preparing for the Super Bowl are automatically ineligible, and some simply don’t feel like playing a meaningless exhibition after just finishing a grueling season.

We might see another round of declined invitations this year, especially since they keep moving the game out of Hawaii for some reason. At least they went back to the AFC vs. NFC format, after a bizarre experiment with a fantasy draft for several years.

The Pro Bowl takes place on Jan. 28 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. Derrick Brooks and Warrick Dunn have been named captains for the NFC team.
