Kyrie Irving and Nike combined all his memes in a new commercial

This is actually hilarious!

Nike and Kyrie Irving have a new commercial for his new signature sneaker that debuted Christmas Day, and it’s basically an encyclopedia of every single Irving meme we’ve been gifted this year. It features cameos from Rob Gronkowski, Jayson Tatum, and a fake Isaiah Thomas, and it doesn’t really make sense beyond that, but who cares?

Let’s run down the memes included in here.

“Am I too serious?”

Gronk starts the commercial by reciting Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War,” and Irving cuts him off to say he’s “not feeling this.” Ha, yes, it’s a funny role reversal since Irving is usually the one prone to reciting ancient literature and pretending like everything is more serious than reality.

GROOVES

Kyrie’s favorite music in high school was Rent: The Musical. I can’t pretend to be a Rent: The Musical expert, but they’re playing something like that. (Later, the Boston Symphony Orchestra is brought in, we should note.)

A globe that is extremely flat

“This is my world,” Irving says before spinning it.

Kyrie 4s

Here’s the shoe that Irving is promoting, and admittedly, they are fire.

Irving is levitating

OK, cool. (Can he levitate to space so he can see the Earth’s curvature?)

And there’s a “body double” who’s a kid

I assume this is an Isaiah Thomas joke, right? Because Thomas is short?

And I probably missed something.

There’s a lot here, after all.
