Please look at this pass.
Milos Teodosic made either the luckiest or greatest pass that I have ever seen
What did Milos Teodosic just do here?

That’s Milos Teodosic with the steal and save, and it’s Blake Griffin with the dunk, as the Los Angeles Clippers and the Los Angeles Lakers face off at the Staples Center. If it were any other player in the league, I would say that Teodosic simply saved this basketball as best he could, flying out of bounds with a defender behind him, and it took a very fortunate bounce so that Griffin and only Griffin could catch up to it.
It is not “any other player in the league,” though. Now’s a good chance to meet Teodosic if you haven’t yet.
The thumbnail of that video says it all — Teodosic is the most creative passer in basketball. We can’t say things like that, and also say that it was just an accident that Teodosic happened to pick up an assist on an otherwise impossible play to record an assist on. Teodosic is the .1 percent of the NBA, and I truly believe he just made one of the most incredible passes I have ever seen.
Sure, maybe Teodosic didn’t exactly know where Griffin was, and wasn’t perfectly certain that Griffin and only Griffin could catch up to it. But he knew that Griffin had a chance, and he knew that he needed to put it out ahead of the defense beyond the half-court line to make that play work, so he did.
I am so glad Teodosic is in this league, damnit. So glad.
