Lions only had 9 players on the field for a Ravens 3rd down conversion

You’re allowed to have 11, Lions.

The Detroit Lions played from behind against the Ravens all afternoon, and didn’t exactly done themselves any favors.

The Ravens were faced with a third-and-7 from the Detroit 33, and the Lions only sent out nine players on the field for the down, which Baltimore converted on:

They might have been saving a player for this touchdown, which was completed to linebacker Nick Bellore:

The Lions’ lack of players is an extreme opposite of Washington, who lined up with 13 (!) players on the field this past Thursday against the Cowboys:

The day after the 44-20 loss, Lions head coach Jim Caldwell blamed himself:

Just stick to 11 players, y’all. It works better than 9 and is legal, unlike 13.
