Big Baller Brand plans on creating a shoe for LiAngelo Ball, which will be called the “Gelo 3,” according to ESPN’s Jovan Buha. There won’t be any problems with the plan from the NCAA, since on Monday, LaVar Ball confirmed that LiAngelo was dropping out of UCLA as a player and a student.
LiAngelo Ball is ‘famous’ now so Big Baller Brand plans to create the ‘Gelo 3s’
He’s famous mostly for high-profile international shoplifting charges that were later dropped, but apparently that’s enough.

LiAngelo Ball isn’t an NBA draft prospect and may, along with younger brother LaMelo Ball, look to go pro internationally. LaMelo Ball already has a signature shoe, the Melo 1s, to go along with Lonzo Ball’s ZO2s.
LiAngelo Ball left UCLA based on his dad’s advice, who felt like his indefinite suspension wasn’t fair. Ball, of course, had been suspended for shoplifting charges while in China, along with teammates Cody Riley and Jalen Hill. He has missed all eight games that UCLA had played this season.
Ironically, the shoplifting incident may have placed him on an even higher platform. Before, Ball was the least recognizable of the three Ball brothers, but now he has been the center of attention for weeks.
Will it help him sell shoes? Look, I don’t know. I can’t believe anyone’s buying these shoes. His brother’s shoes are decent-looking kicks, don’t get me wrong, but they’re not worth several hundred dollars. This was always the problem with the Big Baller Brand business model, although because of their low volume of sales, high costs are necessary to sustain the business model.
I’ll say that it’s no coincidence that the sneaker was announced right now, just as LiAngelo Ball dominates the news cycle. It may not be “good” press, but there’s no such thing as bad press in LaVar Ball’s world.
