Joel Embiid is an NBA basketball player, which means, obviously, that he is tall. Normally, that’s a requirement. Shoutout to all the little point guards, though — we see you.
Please look at Joel Embiid tower over every other pro athlete
He’s so tall.

But Joel Embiid is really tall. When I say really tall, I mean really, really tall. He’s listed at 7’0 by the NBA, but the 76ers announce him as their 7’2 center at their games.
How tall is he? Well, he makes actual grown adults look like children. We have proof thanks to Embiid’s appearance at Sports Illustrated’s Sportperson of the Year awards, where the 76ers big man was recognized as the rising star of the year.
Let’s just go down the list of honorees.
Maya Moore
Maya Moore is as tall as some of your favorite NBA point guards. At 6 feet, she’s about as tall as Chris Paul and Kemba Walker. She’s taller than Isaiah Thomas and Tyler Ulis. But next to Embiid? You forget about all of that.
Moore stood next to Embiid for a picture. Just look at the height difference.
Maya Moore towers over most average folks. I don’t even want to think about what I’d look like standing next to Embiid.
J.J. Watt is about 6’5 and weighs about 290 pounds. But guess what? Embiid makes him look like a high school wrestler.
Watt looks like he can’t even reach the highest bowl in the cabinet in this picture.
This isn’t even fair. The Astros’ second baseman stands at 5’6. If I’m Jose Altuve, I’m not even taking this picture. It’s mean.
Can we get one more look at this? My word.
Wait one second. Where have I seen this picture before? Wait .... wait ... OH. That’s right. Here it is.
Man. Poor Altuve.
It’s nice to see so many athletes all in one place being celebrated like they are, but I can only imagine what it’s like taking pictures with a person as tall as Embiid. He literally towered over everyone.
But Embiid seems like a great, fun person to be around. So I guess it’s alright if you look a bit short in comparison. Congratulations to all of these folks for being great in their respective sports.
