The 141st edition of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show got started Monday night with lots of excitement and even more dogs. Four groups took turns circling the ring, starting with the Hounds, which featured an astonishing 33 breeds.

In 2015, Miss P, a 15-inch Beagle of the Hound group, won Best in Show, and the group will look to take back that title at this year’s event. The winner of the Hound group was Duffy, a Norwegian Elkhound who loves pizza:

One dog who definitely did not win was Mia, an extremely adorable Beagle who got a little distracted during her run in a separate competition at the Dog Show on Monday night. Mia wins the group of Life in our book, though, and that’s more than enough.

The Toy group, which features many of the smallest, most adorable dogs in the field, came up second. It was won by Chucky, a Pekingese with an extremely good face:

Next up came the Non-Sporting group, including popular breeds such as the Bulldog, Boston Terrier, Dalmatian, Chinese Shar-Pei, and Chow Chow. Aftin, a Miniature Poodle, won that group:

The Herding group was the final one of the night, with Rumor, a popular German Shepherd, winning the prize.

This is the second straight year that Rumor has won the Herding group, and she’ll look to finally take Best in Show after falling short a year ago.

On Tuesday, the winners for three more groups (Sporting, Working, and Terrier) will be announced before the big ceremony for Best in Show. Last year, the top honor went to CJ, a 3-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer. Soon we will know who is the best of the very good dogs in this year’s field, just like CJ a year ago.
