Louisville sophomore lost $38,000 thanks to halftime contest fine print

Life is full of highs and lows.

A Louisville sophomore won’t be awarded the $38,000 in prize money he won for a halftime contest in which he made a layup, free throw, three-pointer, and half-court shot.

The contest was held during halftime at a University of Louisville women’s basketball game Thursday at KFC Yum! Center.

Jackson Logsdon, who pays out-of-state tuition, did not meet the stipulations of the contest held by Million Dollar Media, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.

He wasn’t eligible because he played high school basketball “within the past six years.”

It’s unfortunate, because he was allowed to compete in the contest to begin with, but found out later that night he would be unable to receive the money.

Logsdon took the bad news remarkably well, though.

“When the shot left my hands I knew it had a chance and when it went in I can’t explain the excitement and thrill I felt,” he told the Courier-Journal. “It was a total out of body experience that I’ll remember forever.”

The short-lived celebrity even tweeted the news, almost cheerfully.
