CIT 2017 schedule: Game times and live stream info for Tuesday

The CollegeInsider.com Tournament, now in its eighth season, is another version of “March Madness” that showcases mostly low-major schools. The tournament, while still somewhat unheralded, has showcased some particularly big names, specifically on the selection committee. Antonio Gates, Vincent Jackson, and Arthur Hightower highlight the regional committee, while 10 athletic directors compose the CIT selection committee.

Unlike the NCAA tournament, the CIT does not use a bracket format. As a result, the second round of the tournament will not be decided until after the conclusion of the final day of the first round, which is held Thursday.

Tuesday’s matchup between Saint Francis and Jacksonville will be the Hugh Durham Classic, a game which honors the legendary coach who is a four-time SEC Coach of the Year and a member of four different schools’ respective Halls of Fames (Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and Kentucky).

Last year, Columbia defeated UC Irvine to win the 2016 CIT. Will one of Tuesday’s participants be able to win it all this year?

Canisius at Samford, 7:30 p.m. ET

All games of the CIT will be streamed online via Facebook Live. The semifinals (which will take place March 29) and championship game (March 31) will be televised by CBS Sports Network.
