Hornets’ Nicolas Batum CT scan on brain came back negative

He’s been dealing with migraines.

Charlotte Hornets forward Nicolas Batum undergwent a CT scan on his brain to determine the cause behind the painful migraines he’s been dealing with, according to ESPN.com’s Chris Haynes on Wednesday. The results came back negative, thankfully.

The migraine kept him out the team’s Monday loss to the Chicago Bulls, and he also did not play on Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers.

Batum signed a five-year, $120 million contract to remain in Charlotte over the summer. He is averaging 15.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.9 assists for the Hornets this season.

It’s unsure what Batum’s status will be going forward but if he misses time it will be a blow to a Charlotte team that has fallen out of the Eastern Conference playoff race after a strong start to the season. The Hornets now sit 11th in the East, 3.5 games behind the Milwaukee Bucks for the eighth seed.

Losing Batum, the team’s secondary playmaker behind Kemba Walker, will likely hurt their chances at making a last ditch effort at a playoff push.

Still, anything to do with the brain is a serious situation and hopefully Batum is okay moving forward.
