Second baseman Rougned Odor signed a six-year, $49.5 million contract with the Texas Rangers on Wednesday, and to seal the deal Odor received two horses from the team.
Rougned Odor got 2 horses as part of $49.5 million contract with Rangers

You never know what extra perk might be the cherry on top of the sundae with these types of deals, especially ones worth several million dollars. Kevin Brown broke baseball’s $100 million barrier in 1998 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, but his deal also included round trips for his family in Georgia to travel to and from Los Angeles.
With Odor, who had six horses already at his home in Venezuela, the kicker for the Rangers was easy.
“When I go see my horses, I relax and forget about everything, and that’s why I love it,” Odor told Pat Doney of NBC 5 in Dallas this week. “I think it started when I was a little kid. My family on my mom’s side used to have a ranch, and I used to go there.”
Odor seemed relaxed last season when the 22-year-old led the Rangers with 33 home runs, except for maybe that one game against the Toronto Blue Jays when he punched Jose Bautista.
But now, with $49.5 million guaranteed on his new deal, and two more adorable horses to add to his stable, Odor has plenty of reasons to relax.
