Giannis Antetokounmpo said he would punch Thon Maker if he didn’t shoot the ball

The message was clear: If Thon Maker touched the ball in overtime and didn’t shoot it, he was going to eat a giant Giannis Antetokounmpo fist. At least that’s what the Greek Freak said after his Milwaukee Bucks came out victorious with a 108-105 win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday.

Maker received the message at the right time. He scored five points in overtime and drilled a three-pointer with under two minutes left to give the Bucks a 102-99 lead. Maker missed his next shot, but that triple was the difference in Milwaukee’s three-point victory.

Antetokounmpo was amazing as usual. He nearly turned in a triple-double, drubbing the Pistons for 28 points (7-of-16 shooting), 14 rebounds, and nine assists to go along with two blocks and a steal. But Milwaukee outscored Detroit by a whopping 26 points with Maker on the floor, versus just nine with their All-Star forward in the game.

Maybe some tough love is all the rook needed.
