Nowitzki did it again, this time for point No. 30,000.

With 10:57 remaining in the second quarter of the Dallas Mavericks’ 122-111 win over Los Angeles on Tuesday, Nowitzki faded away from Larry Nance Jr. to score his 19th and 20th points of the game and 30,000th of his career.
But it was Jan. 13, 2010 when Nowitzki scored 20,000 points, only he’d shoot over Lamar Odom’s outstretched arms, instead. Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said then, “He’ll end up with 25,000 [points] before he’s done, for sure.”
Little did he know his prediction wasn’t lofty enough.
Nowitzki became just one of six players in NBA history to score 30,000 regular-season points, joining Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone, and Kareem Abdul-Jabaar. It’s a feat so impressive, even LeBron James stopped what he was doing to congratulate him.
And if he keeps on chugging along, Nowitzki can pass Chamberlain on the all-time scoring list next season. Talk about a career.
